Modding the HP Z Turbo G2 M.2 PCIe Adapter
This HP card mounts in a PCIe expansion slot and provides a M.2 NVME socket. But then it gets weird - HP locked these so they could only be used with HP Z4x0s. Or did they?

LSI-based HBAs are designed for the airflow of a server chassis, not a repurposed desktop PC. They run hot, and - in my opinion - should get a little cooling assistance.
I recently acquired an LSI 9300-8i Supermicro HBA and needed to flash the firmware for use with TrueNAS... the process was more of a hassle than I'd expected.
